Patti Morgan, ROCC, NCMA
Financial Assistant | Patient Accounts
Meet Patti Morgan, Patti began with the Community Cancer Center (CCC) as a volunteer while she was attending the Umpqua Community College Medical Assistant certification course which she graduated from in 2012. While working as a volunteer she developed a respect for the values of the CCC as an organization and the treatment provided to the patients.
In August 2012 Patti went from volunteer to staff member when she joined our CCC nursing team as a Certified Medical Assistant. Since that time, she has expanded her skills in the front office and is currently our Insurance Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Patti was born and raised in Douglas County and when she is not at work, she enjoys the many things our community has to offer. We asked her about hobbies and what she likes most about her leisure time. As a family Patti and her husband, along with other family members, enjoy racing mini stock cars and hard tops.
When asked about her role at the CCC she says she; “feels privileged being a part of the great team here at the CCC, and enjoys working with the patients and their families.” She also takes “pride in knowing what she is doing provides relief from the stress of the financial aspects of cancer treatments by reviewing options for payment.” As a billing specialist it is required to be highly accurate and motivated to self-manage a daily workload that consistently follows up on unpaid claims utilizing monthly aging reports and filing appeals when appropriate to obtain maximum reimbursement. Patti also completes such duties as data entry of all patient demographic, guarantor and insurance information, posting procedures and insurance/patient payments, balance to daily deposits and assist the director of financial operations with accounts payable.
