Ally Gottfried MFN, RD, CSO, LD, a Registered Dietitian and Board-Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition has worked at the Community Cancer Center for almost two decades. Nutrition intervention during cancer therapy involves helping manage the varied side effects of treatment, both chemotherapy and radiation. Nutrition guidance for survivorship is also provided.
Nutrition Science and advances in cancer care are constantly evolving and through her involvement with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Oncology Dietetic Practice group, Ally stays in regular contact with Oncology Dietitians in the major cancer treatment centers in the USA and oversees. This collaboration allows the Community Cancer Center to stay up to date with innovative approaches and methods of delivering nutrition care.
Our Dietitian was the Principal Investigator for the Community Cancer Centers first clinical research trial investigating the effect of diet on outcomes for breast cancer survivors and in collaboration with Legacy Health in Portland.
Ally is an author in an Oncology Nutrition Practice textbook discussing methods of nutrition delivery in patients undergoing treatment for brain cancer. Other contributions include being a guest speaker at numerous health fairs and groups, and a Provider’s Summit for local physicians and providers.
Ally was the proud recipient of the 2016 Zonta award recognized as a Women of Achievement and continues to be the volunteer Dietitian for the Meals on Wheels program.
