Echo Peel, BAA
Director of Financial Services

Meet our Director of Finance, Echo Peel. Echo has been with the Community Cancer Center since 1993 and will be celebrating her 25 year anniversary with the organization.

Echo and her family moved to Roseburg when she was in middle school. She graduated from Roseburg High School in 1990 and began classes at Umpqua Community College while starting her professional career.

In 1993 Echo realized she wanted career in the medical industry that had both an opportunity for growth and would allow her to continue to help those in need. She joined the front office reception team at the Community Cancer Center and in a few short years Echo found herself responsible for more tasks and work flows that included tumor registry, billing and coding and all the accounts payable/receivable duties. She says she’s’ “Passionate about accounting,” and when she can apply what she loves to helping the patients it’s a win-win.

In 2012 Echo was promoted into the position of Director of Financial Operations.  Her responsibilities include supervision of the front office staff and the day to day financial operations of the Community Cancer Center.  This includes staying well informed of changes occurring in the ever-changing work of healthcare reimbursement.  She also meets with patients individually to discuss their insurance benefits and alleviate any concerns about cost.

In her effort to continue to grow professionally, Echo completed her Accounting degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, Bushnell University in 2015.  We asked Echo, what was her personal confirmation that she is good at what she does? And after a moment’s thought she smiled and said, “When the auditors give me compliments on my work.”

Echo is very organized and efficient, and it shows in the quality of work that is audited. Managing a staff is no easy task and requires a supervisor to take opportunities to build individuals. Echo’s advice is “Don’t sweat the small stuff. No matter what the mistake is, it can be fixed.” When asked what Focus on Hope mean to Echo she says; “Not to focus on the diagnosis, rather focus on the healing.”

In her down time, Echo enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their two Shih Tzu’s and three cats. She gives back to her community by supporting a canine rescue, volunteering her skills for the CCC’s events and fundraisers.
