Meet Melody Boqua: Our Newest Medical Assistant

Melody Boqua was born in West Covina, California, and spent her formative years in Hesperia before moving to Myrtle Creek, Oregon, during her sophomore year of high school. A proud graduate of South Umpqua High School, Melody began her journey in nursing at Umpqua Community College and is now a valued Medical Assistant with our team.

Melody is a dedicated mother of three boys and celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary last year with her high school sweetheart. Her personal core values emphasize kindness, honesty, and a non-judgmental approach, reflecting her belief in understanding situations from multiple perspectives. Family holds a central place in her life, including her friends who she considers family.

Beyond her professional role, Melody is actively involved in community service. She volunteers annually with Peace at Home, contributing to their gala fundraiser for battered persons advocacy. Her commitment to healthcare and helping others is matched by her empathy and passion for making a difference in people’s lives.

In her free time, Melody enjoys reading and line dancing—a hobby she took up four years ago on a whim. She has since grown to love it, participating in line dancing sessions twice a week and continuing her involvement with Peace at Home’s annual gala.

Melody lives by the personal philosophy: “Be kind. Be understanding,” a guiding principle in both her professional and personal life. We’re excited to have Melody join our team and look forward to the compassion and enthusiasm she brings to her role.
